Advancing Infrastructure and Urban Development in Uyo
Amitec Group was honoured to host the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, during his first project inspection of 2026 at the reclaimed Uyo Village Road corridor.
The visit focused on the ongoing dualisation of the 4.3-kilometre Uyo Village Road, including the construction of two bridges. It also provided an opportunity for the Governor to unveil intervention plans for the transformation of the reclaimed former dump-site into a strategic urban growth hub.
A Vision for a More Connected Uyo
The proposed intervention plans are intended to address important urban development challenges, including housing deficits and erosion, while creating opportunities for economic activities and opening new development corridors close to Uyo city centre.
These plans form part of the State’s broader urban development direction, with an emphasis on improving the built environment and supporting future growth.
Roads, bridges, drainage systems, and supporting infrastructure are important components of sustainable urban development.
